Dr. Gentle W. Komi Ph.D., M.Sc. (UPH), B.Sc. (ABU, Zaria). Lecturer at University of Port Harcourt (UPH). His research centers on hydrobiology, ecotoxicology, impact assessment, environmental management, feeds, population dynamics of aquatic organisms, invasive species and livelihood innovations. Komi is a member/official of Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON), Association for Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria (AEIAN), Ecological Society of America (ESA), and Nigerian Environmental Society (NES). Dr Komi, a scholar of Rivers State Government and Carnegie Corporation of New York recently completed a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Rural Innovations at Makerere University, Uganda. He is a member of a research team who in 2024 obtained two patents for plastic waste management and conversion of waste plastics to cooking gas, kerosine and diesel. His future research interest is in biogas and ecosystem restoration. Dr Komi is seeking for a postdoctoral or sabbatical placement and collaboration with industry to commercialize their patent.
